WHERE IS THE SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC IN OXFORD-COWLEY?

Our STD testing clinic in Oxford is located in the Cowley area, three miles east of central Oxford. The clinic is easily accessible from the city centre via Cowley Road, and is also less than 300 metres away from the nearest Eastern Bypass Road Junction, making it easily accessible from other areas of the city. There is a large car park at the clinic for those arriving by car.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I’VE DEPOSITED MY SAMPLE?

Once you’ve deposited your sample it will be sent to our laboratory for testing. We use one of the leading laboratories in the UK, offering accurate results to the highest possible standards.

In the unfortunate event that your results come back positive, these can be discussed and actioned by your own GP. We can also recommend an independent private GP service if you prefer who can discuss your circumstances and manage further as required. This service will be free of charge to you. We’re the only online private STD testing provider to offer this level of service.

FAQs

The symptoms of sexually transmitted infections vary from person to person and many people will notice no symptoms at all. If you don’t have symptoms, the STD can still cause you health problems and you can pass it on to others. Common symptoms include: –
  • Unusual discharge from the penis, vagina or anus
  • Pain during sex or urination
  • Sores, blisters, ulcers, warts or rashes in the genital area
  • Itchiness or irritation usually localised to the urethra
  • Abnormal or unusual vaginal bleeding, especially after having sex
  • Pain in the scrotum or testicles
  • Lumps and bumps on the genitals
  • Swelling of the glands in your groin
Due to the fact that many people will notice no symptoms at all, the only way to truly know you have an STD is through testing. Learn more about this in our blog, How long after sex do STI symptoms appear?

Home testing involves a kit being posted out to you to take your own samples, whilst our clinic tests involve you visiting a clinic where they will collect your sample. Learn more about home testing in our dedicated blog, How does STD home testing work? Alternatively, learn more about testing and how long it takes to get your results.

The length of time it takes for you to receive your test results depends on the test that you have taken. Some tests offer results straight away whilst others have up to a 5 day turnaround time. You can find out the turnaround times for each of our tests displayed on the main test page or the clinic pages.
