Where is the private sexual health clinic in Maidstone?

Our Maidstone clinic is located in Turkey Court, just off the A20. The clinic has car parking available on site making it handy for those arriving by road. The clinic is one mile out of central Maidstone, where there is a railway station for those needing public transport.

If it would be more convenient, we also have a second clinic on Church Street, which is closer to Maidstone East and Maidstone Barracks Train Stations.

What happens once I’ve deposited my sample at the Maidstone clinic?

Once you’ve deposited your sample at our Maidstone clinic it will be sent to our laboratory for testing. We’ll notify you of your results using your preferred contact method and you will be able to access them on our secure portal.

In the unfortunate event that your results come back positive, these can be discussed and actioned by your own GP. We can also recommend an independent private GP service if you prefer who can discuss your circumstances and manage further as required. This service will be free of charge to you. Getting tested at home is easy and won’t take more than 10 minutes of your time. Simply apply for a Home STD Test and we will send out a test suitable for the STDs you wish to test for. Some tests can be turned around in 2 days, whilst others can take 5 days due to some samples requiring a slightly longer testing period.

Most Postal Tests require either a blood prick sample using a lancet or a simple collection of urine.

Positive chlamydia results for one partner, but not the other could be due to 3 reasons:

  • Your result is a false positive
  • Their result is a false negative
  • The virus has not yet been transmitted between each partner

It is not necessarily the case that a positive result for one partner indicates infidelity in the relationship. It has been noted that false negative results are more common than false positives to a magnitude of around 10 to 1.
