Who is this Test Ideal For?

This urine test for common STDs is important for anyone who believes they’ve come into contact with chlamydia or gonorrhoea. If one of your previous sexual partners has alerted you to a positive diagnosis then you have a high risk of exposure, especially if you didn’t use protection. It’s also useful for a retest if you’ve had treatment for one of the STIs and want to ensure it’s been effective. If you believe it’s possible that you may have contracted the condition through oral or anal sex, then you are advised to carry out a swab test of the area that’s infected.

How is a Urine Test Carried Out?

This urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea is carried out using a urine sample which is collected from your chosen clinic location. A medical professional will be on hand to offer instructions for your sample in order to ensure you gain the most accurate results.

Urine Test For Gonorrhoea & Chlamydia Turnaround Time

This test has a short 2 day turnaround time from when it’s received by our laboratory. All samples are sent to the laboratory using 1st Class Royal Mail post, which means you won’t be waiting any longer than you need to receive your results.

When Should I Take a Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Test After Exposure?

Please be advised that this test will only offer the advised level of accuracy 14 days after potential exposure. If you were diagnosed more recently than 14 days please contact our customer services team who will discuss your testing options with you.

Clinic Test Procedure

By selecting a clinic test you’ll be assisted by a nurse or doctor in one of our private sexual health clinics located across the UK. These can be accessed easily via main roads and public transport, with some even offering evening and weekend appointments.

1. Book Your Chlamydia Urine Test

To book this test, simply press the ‘Select This Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs, at a location close to you.

2. Arrive at a Clinic Near You

Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival, and you’ll be greeted by a friendly nurse practitioner who will collect your sample.

3. Collecting Your Urine Sample

The Chlamydia & Gonorrhoea test only requires a urine sample. This will be collected by you in a clinic toilet, with the nurse or doctor providing you with full instructions before you deposit the sample. For the test to be fully accurate you must catch the first stream of urine.

4. Waiting For Your Test Results

Once you have deposited your urine sample at one of our private sexual health clinics, you won’t need to do anything else. We will test your sample at one of our high-standard laboratories, before notifying you of the results through your preferred contact method. To find out more about the typical waiting time for different STD results, read our recent blog post – ‘How long does it take to get an STD test result?
