Chlamydia Gonorrhoea

Who is this test for?

This test is designed for anyone who has given unprotected oral sex. Whether you notice symptoms or not, it’s important that you are tested in all areas of the body that could have caught an infection. Oral symptoms of chlamydia can include a sore throat, redness with white spots or a dry throat. Most people will notice no symptoms.

Turnaround time

This test has a two day turnaround time once it reaches the laboratory to gain accurate results. Remember that it may take up to two days for your sample to reach the laboratory once tested.

Incubation period

This test will offer accurate results from 14 days following potential exposure. Testing before this time can lead to inaccurate results, where you think you are clear, but in actual fact you are still infected. Always take note of the Accuracy From date on our tests before testing.

Is this test right for me?

This test is for anyone who has received oral sex. If you also had penetrative sex or anal sex, you will need to take a urine or rectal swab sample to be tested to.  Contact our team to find out more about any of our tests.

Clinic test procedure

By selecting a clinic test you’ll be assisted by a nurse or doctor in one of our sexual health clinics located across the country.

1. Book your test

To book this test, simply press the ‘Select This Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs.

2. Arrive at the clinic

Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival.

3. Your swab sample

You’ll be seen by a nurse or doctor who will talk you through the procedure of depositing your throat swab sample. The sample should be taken from the back of your throat and you should try to avoid contact with other areas of your mouth whilst taking the sample.

4. Now we’ll take care of your results

Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll notify you of your results using our online portal as soon as they’re reported by the laboratory.
