Who is this test for?
This test is for anyone who wants to find out if they have ever been infected with the COVID-19 Coronavirus. It is not for anyone who currently has symptoms as it is only accurate around 14 days after the onset of symptoms, at which point your body will have created enough antibodies to be detected on the test.
How does this test work?
This test uses a blood sample to identify the presence of the antibodies that your body creates to fight COVID-19. It is known as an Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) test, which means the test is specific to the antibodies created by the COVID-19 strain of the virus. It can therefore specifically identify if you have been infected with the deadly COVID-19 as opposed to other kinds of coronavirus.
Your blood sample will be collected at one of our many clinics located nationwide or by a home visit nurse, depending on the service that you choose. This will then be sent to our UKAS Accredited laboratory for processing and your results will be communicated to us through our website.
Is this test accurate and safe?
Our COVID-19 Antibody Test is Public Health England Approved for medical professional use, which means it’s safe to carry out in a clinic setting. Tests receive this approval after rigorous research and testing, meaning it meets all relevant thresholds in terms of accuracy and safety.
The test uses the Abbott Assay which according to the manufacturer has a specificity of 99.6% and sensitivity of 100% after 14 days of onset of symptoms. In Public Health England studies, it was found to have 100% specificity and 93.4% sensitivity, 14 days after symptom onset.
All of our tests are carried out in accordance with manufacturer guidelines using a venous sample taken by a trained doctor, phlebotomist or nurse, either in a clinic setting or at a patients home address.
Our tests are NOT INSTANT TESTS, they require a blood sample to be tested in a UKAS Accredited laboratory and are completely safe and accurate. We also conduct our own due diligence for all of our testing products.

If I have antibodies am I immune?
Someone with a normal immune system that can fight the virus and get better should have immunity for quite some time. How long and whether it is lifelong is currently difficult to say. This will become more clear as global research surrounding the virus develops.

How is my sample collected?
Your sample will be collected by a trained doctor, nurse or phlebotomist. This will either be at one of our many clinics located nationwide or using our home visit service where we visit your home or workplace.
Your appointment can be booked using our online booking service when paying for your test (subject to availability). The appointment should last no longer than 15 minutes and upon completion your sample will be sent to our laboratory for processing.
