Hepatitis B

Who is this test for?

This test is for anyone who needs to check their Hepatitis immunity status. It does not test for current infection of the virus, nor does it identify whether you can transmit the virus to others. It is used by people who have either had hepatitis B before or by anyone who has been vaccinated.

It can identify the presence of antibodies that will prevent you getting the disease in future or in the case where your immunity status is low, will ensure you receive a booster vaccination. It is useful for the following reasons: –

  • If you work in a healthcare role where you are exposed to blood or other bodily fluids
  • If you are travelling to a country where it’s prevalent
  • If you require the test for a pre-employment or visa medical
  • If you need to check your status before arranging for a booster vaccine

How does this test work?

This test uses a blood sample to establish your titre reading. It will help you or a doctor understand if you are currently immune to hepatitis B. It can either be carried out as a home test or clinic test.

Is this test right for me?

This test will only identify your current immunity status to Hepatitis B and will not diagnose if you have hepatitis B at present and need treatment. If you are unsure whether this test is correct for you, please contact our customer services team on 0161 660 2599 to discuss some more.

By selecting a clinic test you’ll be assisted by a nurse or doctor in one of our sexual health clinics located across the country.

1. Book your test

To book this test, simply press the ‘Select This Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs.

2. Arrive at the clinic

Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival.

3. Your blood sample

The Hepatitis B Immunity test requires a blood sample only. The blood sample is collected by a trained nurse or doctor. They’ll take care of you and ensure you’re comfortable, but it will require the use of a needle.

4. Now we’ll take care of your results

Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll notify you of your results using our online portal as soon as they’re reported by the laboratory.
