A test to diagnose common STIs for gay men
The MSM Profile is designed for men who have sex with men, using multiple sample collection methods to offer improved accuracy against the four most common STIs.
Who is this test for?
This test is designed for men who have sex with men as it uses both throat and rectal swabs, alongside standard blood and urine samples in order to offer a more comprehensive check against the four most common sexually transmitted infections.
How is the test carried out?
The test is carried out using a rectal swab, a throat swab, a finger prick blood sample and a standard urine sample. Instructions on how to complete the sample will be included within the sample collection pack. If you have any difficulties contact our expert team.
This test can take up to 5 days to gain accurate results once received by the lab. On many occasions our results are returned quicker. Some of the conditions within the MSM Profile may be diagnosed quicker than others and on these occasions we’ll notify you of each as and when we receive them.
Please be advised that this test will only offer the advised level of accuracy against all conditions 28 days after potential exposure. If you believe you came into contact sooner than 28 days then you may wish to take one of our Early Detection tests which offer accurate results just 10 days after exposure.
