WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR PRIVATE STD CLINIC IN SUFFOLK

Your Sexual Health has a private STD clinic in Suffolk, Framlingham, providing discreet and confidential sexual health screening to people in East Suffolk. Our service is simple; choose from a wide range of STD tests, including a Comprehensive Profile Test, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, and Early Detection Tests, and book an appointment at a time that suits you.

All you have to do then is arrive at your appointment to deposit your sample. We’ll take care of the rest, with no need for lengthy and uncomfortable NHS clinic wait times.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY TEST?

Once you’ve deposited your sample it will be taken to our labs for testing. You will be notified of your result via your preferred contact method – either telephone or email.

In the unfortunate event that your results come back positive, these can be discussed and actioned by your own GP. We can also recommend an independent private GP service if you prefer who can discuss your circumstances and manage further as required. This service will be free of charge to you. We’re the only online private STD testing provider to offer this level of service.

Some sexually transmitted diseases can be detected through a urine sample. A urinalysis can give clues to the presence of sexually transmitted infections. A positive test for leukocyte esterase or increased numbers of white blood cells in the exam is suggestive of chlamydia or gonorrhoea infection.

Your Sexual Health provides hassle-free and completely confidential STI urine tests which test for chlamydia or gonorrhoea quicker than the tests offered by the NHS.

Your blood will be sampled for sexually transmitted diseases that may be unknown to you before its final, medical use. This is to make sure you aren’t unknowingly passing any blood-borne STDs. Find out more about testing for STDs in donated blood in our dedicated blog.

A positive test may take longer than a negative due to testing for false positives. If you’ve taken one of our same-day tests and it comes back positive, we will run a second test, which will be inspected in one of our laboratories to ensure it’s not a false positive.

A result is rarely lost, and we suggest not taking any extended wait for your results to be indicative of a positive result. In certain cases, such as Herpes Simplex I or II, we may need 5 days to get accurate results, so your results might be delayed by this amount of time to receive an accurate report on your sexual health.

‘Sexual health’ can be anything that includes the safety of you or someone else with regard to their sex lives. This includes testing for STIs and your health in relation to sex, but also an assessment of any possible emotional harm or disorder that might be related to you and your sex life.
