Blood Test For STD Turnaround Time

Results for this test will usually be available three days after your sample is received in the lab. The sample is sent to the laboratory using either Royal Mail 1st Class post or by courier. You will receive your blood test results through the online portal.

When Is This Test Accurate From?

This test offers accurate results 10 days after potential exposure to the condition, meaning you don’t have to wait the usual 28 days. If you believe you’ve come into contact with the condition more recently than 10 days, don’t hesitate to contact our team for specialist STD advice. Find out more about how soon Hepatitis can be detected following infection in our recent blog post.

Should I Take This Test?

If you are particularly concerned about HIV or Hepatitis following unprotected sex with someone to the point where the worry is affecting your life, then this test is for you. It allows you to gain the answers you need after just 10 days. If you would prefer using our nurse home visit service, try our Comprehensive Profile, Blood Profile, or Premium Profile test.

1. Booking Your Blood Test

If you think this test is right for you, press the ‘Book Now’ button, where you’ll be taken to a page where you can select a clinic. Most of our private clinics are accessible via public transport and offer evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.

2. Your Private STD Clinic Appointment

Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival, and you should be greeted by a friendly practitioner with minimal waiting times.

3. Collecting Your Blood Sample

The Early Detection Blood Test test requires a blood and urine sample. The blood sample is collected by a trained nurse or doctor. They’ll take care of you and ensure you’re comfortable, but it will require the use of a needle.

4. Collecting Your Urine Sample

The urine sample will be collected by you in a clinic toilet, with the nurse or doctor providing you with full instructions before you deposit the sample. To ensure you get the most accurate results from your Early Detection test, try to catch the first stream of urine.

5. Receiving Your Blood Test Results

Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of the rest. You will be notified of your results as soon as they are ready, either via the online portal or your preferred contact method.
