Who is the Urine Profile Test Suitable For?
The test is designed for people who want to diagnose the most common sexually transmitted infections, without looking into a diagnosis for the more serious blood-borne STIs, such as HIV. It’s useful if you are exhibiting symptoms affecting the genitals, including discharge, painful urination, or an itching or burning sensation affecting the urethra.
Urine Profile Test Turnaround Time
This test can take up to 3 days to gain accurate results once received by the lab. Your sample is sent by either courier or Royal Mail First Class and will usually arrive at the laboratory 24-48 hours following deposit. If you’d like to find out more about how long it takes to get an STD result from one of our profile tests, read our recent blog post.
STD Incubation Period
Please be advised that this test will only offer the advised level of accuracy against all conditions at least 14 days after potential exposure. If you believe you came into contact sooner than 14 days, contact our customer services team who will explain the most effective testing option available to you, which could include our early detection testing options.
Should I Take the Urine Profile STD Test?
If you’re only interested in testing for the urine based infections then this test will be great for you, however, it doesn’t test for other common STDs such as HIV or syphilis. This test uses the same urine sample for all STD testing, so it is quick and efficient. If you want a complete picture of your sexual health then we recommend our Premium Profile, or our Comprehensive Profile test. Clinic Test Procedure
By selecting a clinic urine profile STD test you’ll be assisted by a nurse or doctor at one of our comfortable clinics. We have over 100 clinics nationwide, located in all major cities. Most are accessible via main roads and public transport, with some even offering weekend and evening appointments. Find your nearest clinic here, or read about the testing process below:
1. Booking Your Urine Test
To book this test, simply press the ‘Select This Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs.
2. Arrive at Your Chosen Clinic
Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival.
3. Your Urine Sample
The Profile 3 test only requires a urine sample. This will be deposited by you in a clinic toilet, with the nurse or doctor providing you with full instructions before you deposit the sample. For the test to be fully accurate you must catch the first stream of urine.
4. Getting Your Test Results
Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll notify you of your results using our online portal as soon as they’re reported by the laboratory.
