Peace of Mind Profile – Standard STD Test
The same test offered as standard at NHS Clinics with quicker test results turnaround, and minimal waiting room times
The Peace of Mind Profile test diagnoses the four most common STIs using a blood and urine sample. It’s the same test that is offered as standard on the NHS, but by booking with Your Sexual Health you can forget about busy clinic waiting rooms or long turnaround times. If you’re looking for a profile test with a quicker turnaround time, why not try our Instant Peace of Mind Test? With any test at Your Sexual Health, we keep your results completely confidential, and will only add the test to your NHS medical record if specifically asked by you. Should I Choose This Test?
This test is for anyone who has had unprotected sex with someone new and is yet to get tested. Many of the conditions that the Peace of Mind Profile tests for don’t show any symptoms and can therefore go diagnosed for years without regular testing. It should give you peace of mind against the most common STIs.
Standard STD Test Turnaround Time
This test takes around 2 working days to gain accurate results once received by the lab. All samples are sent to the laboratory by either Royal Mail First Class Post or by courier.
Incubation Period & Test Accuracy
This test offers accurate results 28 days following potential exposure. If you believe you’ve come into contact with any of the conditions more recently than 28 days, then you may benefit from our Early Detection tests which offer accurate results within 10 days. Find out more about the incubation period for many STDs in our recent blog post – ‘How long after sex do STD symptoms appear?’
Is a Standard STD Test Enough For Me?
This test only identifies the most common STDs meaning it’s useful as a quick check-up following a one night stand, but it won’t give you a comprehensive picture of your full sexual health status. There are many STDs not tested by the Peace of Mind Profile that you can still pass on to future sexual partners. We offer a range of testing options here at Your Sexual Health. If you are wanting to test for uncommon STDs alongside the ones offered in this test, try our Premium Profile, or the Comprehensive Profile.

Clinic Test Procedure
By selecting a clinic test, you’ll be able to choose your preferred location, which can be easily accessed via main roads or public transport. View the procedure steps below.
1. Book Your Peace of Mind Profile Test
To book this test, simply press the ‘Book Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs.
2. Arrive at the Chosen Clinic
Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival.
3. Collecting Your Blood Sample
The Peace of Mind Profile test requires a blood and urine sample to be tested. The blood sample is collected by a trained nurse or doctor at one of our clinics. They’ll take care of you and ensure you’re comfortable, but it will require the use of a needle.
4. Collecting Your Urine Sample
The urine sample will be collected by you in a clinic toilet, with the nurse or doctor providing you with full instructions before you deposit the sample. For the test to be fully accurate you must catch the first stream of urine.
5. How You’ll Receive Your Results
Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of everything else. To receive your results, you’ll get notified as soon as we have them either via our online portal or your other preferred contact method.
