For the most accurate result from your STD test, you should wait at least two weeks for most common STDs (including chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhoea), and at least 28 days before testing for HIV in order to gain an accurate result. Each STD presents different symptoms, and those symptoms may vary from person to person. The only way to know for certain if you have a sexually transmitted infection is to be tested. However, some common symptoms can include: 

• Discharge from the penis, vagina or anus
• Blisters, sores or rashes
• Stomach pains in the lower abdomen
• Pain or burning sensation whilst urinating
• Blood in between periods for women
